To paraphrase a famous bumper sticker, “change happens”. Change is inevitable, and today, pervasive. The speed and sweep of changes today in our business and personal worlds can tempt many leaders to retreat into old patterns of reactive behavior. Command and control can appear to offer a simple method for managing complex changes. However, to freeze is to die. The ability for an organization to change and grow is in direct proportion to the leaderships' abilities to change and grow themselves.

In this rapidly changing business climate one thing remains constant: the need to attract and retain focused, productive employees.

A difficult period of cost cutting and labor reduction has left more than a few business leaders smugly confident that their new 'lean and mean' teams are ready and eager to help launch the business into a new period of higher production and improved profits.
